Even though she stated that she had no intent to harm humans and offered ten times the amount she would normally pay, Joe still refuses to sell the amplifiers. Ivy contacts Joe and attempts to buy signal amplifiers from him, but he refuses, stating that he didn't want to be an accomplice if she was a terrorist conducting the recent drone attacks. Rin offers to perform a complete analysis of the unit, but Ivy states that she herself would bust into the underground facility to gain Intel on the unit, even if that meant facing humans. Ivy stated that she would need to investigate the Architect that ARC was making. They discuss their next option to rescue Vanessa, which is to remotely separate Vanessa's consciousnesses. Rin asks if the process was successful, to which Ivy responds that "some other personality" had taken over the unit. Ivy is forced to destroy the replacement unit and Noah is injured. Ivy attempts the replication process, which fails. She turns around and leaves while the fake Vanessa attempts to convince Ivy that mankind must and will be exterminated. Ivy says that once she saves the real Vanessa, she'll return and permanently delete the fake. Vanessa states that Ivy cannot hope to separate her and the real Vanessa. She also mentions that the Vanessa she is talking to is a personality created by the clash between her protocol and being forced to become the core of the virtual internet. Ivy briefly talks about how the OS came to be and that Vanessa had already lost. She then turns to Vanessa, who is trapped in a cage. Rin asks if the "replication" would begin soon, but Ivy says that she needs more time, then disconnects shortly afterwards. ARC found the error and fussed about it, but cannot find the source since Ivy had covered their tracks.
Ivy contacts Rin again to check on the signal cover that blocks all outgoing connections from the Library. None of the image files of Paff depict her brainwashing. In a later edit, she reveals that the humans already had an understanding of ancient technology thanks to something that had the tech to do so.Īn image that depicts Ivy viewing files regarding Noah Black. She also talks about how ARC had already gotten info on Architects before (one of their exploration teams was attacked by them) and that the humans aren't satisfied enough with the remnant units they've found, so they've opted to create an entirely new unit. She notes that it would be able to serve as a replacement body for Vanessa, but only for a limited period of time. Ivy speaks about the prototype Architect that she managed to get ahold of. Ivy brings up that ARC was attempting to produce Architects just like her and Rin, which shocks the latter. She succeeds and sets up a port that would allow Ivy to cut off Vanessa's connection to the outside and thus the drone management system. Rin accesses the Library and attempts to distract some other workers there by telling them that they need to check the machine room, claiming that important information would disappear if they did not.
